The Smeagol
discussion list
is now open. It will make easier for users to get in touch with the Smeagol developers,
specially on questions regarding how to run Smeagol. Most importantly all the developers
as well as other list members will receive your e-mails creating an interesting forum for discussion
where users can contribute with their own experiences.
We invite all users who wish to register to this service to connect to
http://lists.tchpc.tcd.ie/listinfo/smeagol-discuss
There, the new list member will be asked to provide their e-mail address and to pick a password.
The user will then be notified by e-mail that he/she has joined the list
To send an e-mail to the mailing list simply address messages to
smeagol-discuss@lists.tchpc.tcd.ie
Although one needs to be a member to post messages to the mailing list, one does not need to be one to search
it for previous posts. This might be a useful source of information pertaining compilation issues, etc. Specially since other
users with a similar machine configuration might have encountered similar problems before.
1st October 2005
Smeagol
is now available for downloads
30th September 2005 A new paper
describing theSmeagol method has been
submitted to cond-mat and is available for download.
20th May 2005 Two
PhD position in the Smeagol team of
Dublin. 1st May 2005 Smeagol
impacts on the general press. Read reviews about Smeagol
on Materials Today (second
page) and on La Nueva Espana (in Spanish: Page 1,
Page
2). 6th March 2005 Smeagol
makes its debut in Nature
Materials. In a work that will be published in the April issue the Smeagol
team has investigated spin-transport in molecular spin-valves. This
study demonstrates the possibility of very large magnetoresistance in
both the tunneling and metallic regimes, and that the signal can be
tuned by an appropriate choice of molecules and end groups. Our
findings pave the way for a "chemical route" to Spintronics.
19th October 2004 Thanks to the effort of Dr. Sara McMurry, Smeagol is now at www.smeagol.tcd.ie and it has its very own e-mail address: smeagol@tcd.ie. Feel free to get in touch with us if you have any interest in our work. Last updated: 20/05/2005. |
